  Old Watchtower Literature

  somewhere, somewhen, a dubb died.... waiting for the end no doubt.

  when they died, they left their precious watchtower literature to somebody else, another dubb.. and that dubb also waiting for the end, living some austere life as they hovered over their precious and aging watchtower library, eventually died.. and again.

  and again.. eventually, the last dubb to die left their bound 'salvation' to the congregation, who put it on a shelf, never to be read again.. and that's where i came in.. watchtower bound volume originals from the 1800's and others.. very old.. the watchtower .

  It still looks a lot healthier than the Clinton Archipelago. One looks like a country, the other looks like slim pickings.
  

  You're not taking into account the population density of those 'archipelagos'. The large pro-Trumpian locations are mostly the least dense in population density. One outweighs the other by three million votes.

  it seems that the other threads about trump's policies are veering off into endless ideological theories about how much better we are than islam.

  does anyone think there is a chance that islam can be changed in the same manner that christianity has over the centuries?

  with the inflow of ideas from western countries into the middle east, will people gradually want to move away from sharia law to something less patriarchal and cruel?

  In the year 1600 Giordano Bruno was burnt at the stake for having different beliefs than the Catholic Church. The Jesuits had a most elaborate form of torture techniques that would make waterboarding seem uninspired from a psychopath's point of view. That is the kind of thing that ISIS has been doing.

  Now we have a liberal pope. So why exactly is it that Islam won't be able to change? Yes, a liberal Islam would contradict what their holy scriptures have to say but the same thing applies to Liberal Christians who'd rather ignore the Old Testament.

  I would like to rant about how I get really upset when I get some weak invitation back to the cult.

  my mother wanted me to know that the co gave a talk that kinda-sorta reprimanded an elder in her hall.

  he is not the reason i left at all, and this does not address anything to do with me or our family.. my mother-in-law sent me texts which i ignored and now she has sent a picture to my wife on facebook just for me, and it's a prodigal son meme that says, "you see the signs, come back it's not too late".. yeah, it's not too late to accept a global flood in 2370 bce, or that man was created in 4026 bce from a golem spell, or that an us-and-them cult mentality is at all healthy or loving, or that religion is going to be banned by the un, or that i should expect anyone else at the door to accept these stupid ideas in the information age.. what am i supposed to say?

  i usually just ignore them, but before i do that, i see that shit and i storm into this weird internalized rage where i start writing a response and deleting it.

  I too go through writing fits when something irks me big time. Once, I wrote a flyer against the JWs and distributed to my entire apartment complex. There's over a hundred units and 90% of them are either JWs, inactives and disfellowshipped ones.

  Thats what every Jehovahs Witness should do at the end of a Watchtower Study

  Stand up and say " I`m as mad as hell and I cant take this shit anymore " then walk out and never go back again.
  

  Shortly after my df I went to the Memorial and overturned the table throwing down the emblems on the floor. That's a good way not to get invited for the next generation or so.

  i was baptized in 1979 and attended one of the lancaster ohio congregations.

  realizing i was gay, i left and after being in the columbus gay community for 6 months, decided bar hopping and cruising was not my cup o' tea.i decided to return in late '90 and was reinstated in '91.

  the world health organization states that in the year 2015 ,5.9 million children died under the age of 5 years of age.. in 2010 the death rate for children under the age of 5 years of age was 7.6 million.

  thats over 13 million in just 2 years .

  i dont think you need to be a rocket scientist to conclude that since mankind has been on the earth for however long you want to believe and i`m just going on a conservative estimate of 6000 years by the above figures i quoted their would be billions of children under 5 yearsof age that would have died.

  ever since i came out of the witnesses, i've become very political.. i've heard lots of arguments back and forth for many things.. in the u.s. there is the argument that it is "racist" to want to deny entry to muslims.

  while there is freedom of religion, there is also the very valid concern of maintaining democracy and a justice system that is based on modern values.we as exjw's constantly quote the pew center for statistics on jw's such as: they are last place in the us for members of a religion that go to university, and second-last for poverty levels of members of a religion.

  we accept those statistics and mention them as proof of how damaging the jw's are.now, let's use the same center for some very scary statistics on islam:http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/07/22/muslims-and-islam-key-findings-in-the-u-s-and-around-the-world/.

  I don't know of any Christian religion that wishes to follow the following Bible texts literally:
  

  There is a religious philosophy known as Theonomy (Reconstructionism) that advocates taking over society and imposing pure Old Testament civil law. There's only a few hundred thousand of them along with millions of Theonomists lite but they are well connected politically. Michele Bachmann's university professor John Eidsmoe - which she fondly recalls as her mentor - is a Theonomist.

  These people have a multi-generational time schedule for taking over society. They already are well represented in the lower political echelons of Southern and Midwestern states.

  An example is Vice-President Mike Pence, not quite a Theonomist but definitely a Christian Nationalist, who believes in the supremacy of his brand of Christianity.

  i started leading a double life around 14y/o and got caught drinking by another sister when i was 15 and saw that as my opportunity to quit the panthomime and stopped going to the meetings.
